Worlds Smallest Man meet Longest Legs Women

Worlds Smallest Man, Longest Legs Women, world records 2010
Standing at just 2ft 5in high, He Pingping, from China, has been officially named the smallest man in the world.
Svetlana Pankratova, meanwhile, owns the longest legs in the world, which stretch to 132cm.

Mr Pingping barely came up to Ms Pankratova's knees at a bizarre photoshoot held to mark the launch of the new Guinness Book of World Records.

But the pair seemed rather happy in each other's company as they posed for photos on Trafalgar Square's steps in central London.

In January 2007, Mr Pingping was invited to take part on a television programme in Tokyo, and has since become somewhat of an icon.

It is rumoured he is now so protective of his image, he refuses to have his photo taken unless he is paid a substantial fee.

While Ms Pankratova might have the longest legs in the world, she is not the tallest.
Last month, Sandy Allen, at 7ft 7in, recognized as the world's tallest woman, died aged 53.
In July 2007, Pingping, an internet phenomenon, met with the world's tallest man Bao Xishun.
Earlier this month, it was revealed the midget who shot to fame as the world's smallest bodybuilder had been snapped up by a leading US talent agent and was bound for Hollywood.

It found increased happiness from 1981 to 2007 in 45 of 52 countries analyzed.

"I strongly suspect that there is a strong correlation between peace and happiness," said Ronald Inglehart, a political scientist at the University of Michigan's Institute for Social Research, who directed the study.

Overclocker hits 8.19GHz with Intel Celeron CPU, sets new world record

intel Celeron CPU, sets new world record, computer world record 2010Intel's Celeron line of CPUs aren't known for their feature set of performance credentials, but the budget parts are a favourite among overclocking enthusiasts who're looking to push their processors to the limit.

Don't be surprised, then, to find that an overclocker going by the name of TiN has set a new world record for CPU frequency by overclocking a 3.06GHz Intel Celeron D 347 right the way up to a blistering 8,199.5MHz.

In an age of multi-threaded computing, CPU frequency is no longer the defining performance characteristic, but there's no denying TiN's remarkable feat.

So how did he do it? Well, in order to best cool the £25 CPU, he first heated it to over 200°C to remove the integrated heat spreader (IHS). With that out the way, he popped the still-working CPU into a heavily-modified DFI Lanparty UT P35-T2R motherboard and watched it hit 8,199.5MHz whilst cooled by liquid nitrogen.

TiN's score beats out the previous record holder by just 16.8MHz. Here's the validated CPU-Z screenshot:

Hurricanes, cyclones and typhoons are different terms for the same weather phenomenon which is accompanied by torrential rain and maximum sustained wind speeds exceeding119 kilometers per hour. A hurricane with maximum sustained wind speeds exceeding 249 km/h is referred to as Category 5.

A wind gust of 318 mph was measured by Doppler radar during a tornado in Moore, Oklahoma, in 1999. However, Doppler records are not considered official.

Dan Magness sets 'keepy-uppy' world record

Dan Magness sets 'keepy-uppy' world record,Olympic world record, sport world record, world records 2010Mr Dan Magness has broken a world record by playing "keepy-uppy" 30 miles across London, visiting every Premier League stadium in the capital. Dan Magness, 26, left Fulham's Craven Cottage at 0800 GMT and finished at Tottenham Hotspur's White Hart Lane stadium at about 2145 GMT.

By doing the "football freestyler", he managed the longest keepy-uppy journey. To break the record he had to keep the ball off the ground using all parts of his body, except his hands. After reaching White Hart Lane, Mr Magness, of Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, said: "I am absolutely exhausted, I've had every sort of cramp but I am really proud."

He said he now hoped to visit every Premier League ground doing his football tricks. The ball he used will embark on a 10,000-mile overland journey to Johannesburg, South Africa. On its journey, the football will be taken through Europe and 17 African countries to the opening of the World Cup in the South African city.In much the same vein as the Olympic Torch, the football - which organisers refer to as The Ball - is seen as a symbol of hope, promoting peace and unity.

The ball was hand-stitched in Africa by Alive & Kicking, a UK-based social enterprise that runs stitching factories in Kenya and Zambia."It's a fitting way to begin the ball's journey to the World Cup in South Africa and we're very proud that a ball hand-stitched by Alive & Kicking in Kenya will be the centrepiece of this amazing footballing spectacle," said Alive & Kicking director Will Prochaska.

Mr Magness has already broken four world records, recently controlling a ball for 24 hours in a box in central London's Covent Garden.

The Mitchell Corn Palace

The Corn Palace is a multi-purpose arena/facility located in Mitchell, South Dakota. It is a popular tourist destination, visited by more than 500,000 people each year. The Moorish Revival building is decorated with Crop art; the murals and designs covering the building are made from corn and other grains. It also hosts the home basketball games of Dakota Wesleyan University and the Mitchell High School Kernels.

The Mitchell Corn Palce was inaugurated in 1892, as an ingenious way to showcase the fertile lands of South Dakota, and encourage people to move here. Back then it was just a wooden building, but as its popularity kept growing, it suffered several redesigns, and became a national attraction.

The pieces of corn are nailed into place, using the designs for guidance. The corn used is especially grown for this task, using a variety of seeds, to produce different colors. The decoration of Mitchel Corn Palace with grain murals, costs the town of Mitchell $130,000 every year.
